Associates Meeting - 27th April 2024
Give us, Lord, the spirit of optimism, a vision to see the positive all around us and to choose to live with joy and to serve with love. Amen.
Sr Anna and the Associates had a fruitful and enjoyable gathering on Saturday 27th April.
The meeting began with prayer and song “Come as you are” Paul Gur
This was followed by a reflection on Jesus’ question to his disciples- What are you looking for? John: 1:38
After some reflection and sharing - the main responses were as follows: peace, openness, calm, longing, friendship, belonging, healing, discernment and enlightenment etc.
There was a great sense of camaraderie, connectedness and friendship in the group.
Lectio is always a significant part of associate gatherings. This was based on the upcoming Sunday’s gospel. ‘I am the Vine and you are the branches.’ John 15:1-15
After a shared lunch we had a visualisation based on John 21:15-17 ‘Lord, you know everything…you know that I love you.’ ‘Feed my sheep.’
All agreed that the day had been a blessing and a gift, and that they had touched into new aspects of God’s love for themselves, for each other and all God’s people.
They all enjoyed praying, reflecting and sharing and were encouraged by the synchronicity within the group.
The date of the next meeting is planned for Saturday 21st September.
Before that there will be a meeting to discern the future and hopefully elect a core group.
