World Day of Prayer

I was privileged to be invited to speak at the Kilmallock World Day of Prayer on Friday 4th March. The theme for this year’s prayer, prepared by the women of Cuba, was ‘Receive children, receive Me’ which centred around the Gospel of Mark, chapter 9 verses 36-37:
‘He took a little child whom He placed among them. Taking the child in His arms, He said to them: ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me;’
The evening was very prayerful and a highlight was the involvement of local children and young people who took part in the service.
After the service was over we were invited to the community centre to share fellowship over a cup of tea and a wonderful variety of home-made cakes. The youngsters then sang again for us much to the delight of all present.
