Vocations Ireland AGM

The AGM of Vocations Ireland took place in the Emmaus Centre on 28th November. Many congregations both male and female were represented. The day began with Mass before a break for coffee followed by the keynote speaker, Andrew O’Connell. Andrew is well known to Vocations Ireland after his years of working alongside the Presentation Brothers as their Communications Officer and having served two terms on the Vocations Ireland Executive. He recently won a prestigious award in America as First Place winner in the 2015 Catholic Press Awards in the United States for his contribution to the Best Regular Column on the Spiritual Life. Andrew spoke with authority on youth culture and how this impacts on vocations to Religious Life. He then led us on discussion topics and the feedback was extremely interesting.
After an enjoyable lunch the business end of the meeting took place with the report from the Director, Margaret Cartwright, the Finance report and elections to the Executive.
