Our Vowed Life
Our Vowed Life
By the public profession of vows we freely and totally dedicate ourselves to God, to seek the fullness of love in God's service.
We are chosen, not in a way that excludes others, but in a way that challenges us to love, to be patient, kind, gentle, generous, faihful and to share this Spirit of peace and joy with other people.
Our vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience give shape, form and expression to this way of loving, to this way of living. How we understand the vows is very different at 55 and 85 than it is at 25 or 35!
Our vows shape the colour, texture, the form of tapestry that is the story of each of our lives.
(Taken from a talk by Sr. Brenda Dolphin RSM to the Sisters of St. Paul, 2007)
